Lohud is reporting that the April death of Mamaroneck 2-year-old Gabriella Boyd was ruled as a homicide by undetermined means, according to Martin Rosen, the attorney for the child’s father, Stephen Boyd.

The paper also reported that Richard Portale, the lawyer for Cynthia Arce, the child’s mother, appeared to concede that his client may have caused the child’s death. He claimed that Arce had been suffering from both postpartum depression and bipolar disorder. Portale also said that the court order granting custody to Gabriela’s father may have been “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

Stephen Boyd has set up the Gabriella Boyd Memorial Foundation in his daughter’s memory that will educate and help those facing difficulty in custody situations.
